Planning

On the Planning tab, Metri, your planning assistant, draws up a monthly plan: when you work for which client and which tasks you take on.

On this page

The plan is advice you follow yourself; nothing changes in your tasks or calendar.

1. Who can use Planning

  • Planning is for your own business, not for a client business. The plan is about your hours, not your client's.
  • Mark your own business first: in Manage, click the house icon next to it. The Planning tab then appears for that business.
  • Only account owners and admins see the tab. Team members with the employee role and client users do not.

2. What Metri uses

Metri builds the plan from data you already keep in Metrara:

  • Client hours: the Hours / month per client on the Clients tab. Metri plans the hours that are still open this month, so the agreed hours minus the hours already worked. See Budgets, rates and margin.
  • Workdays and days off: under Clients, Budget, section Workdays and holidays. Choose which days you work and click your days off in the calendar. Days off are left out of the plan.
  • Available hours per day: your agreed client hours spread across the workdays of the month, minus the time of your appointments that day.
  • Appointments: from the calendar you connected yourself. See Connect your calendar.
  • Tasks: the open tasks of this business, with their priority, deadline, goal and project. Tasks with a high priority, a close deadline or a link to a goal come first.
  • Fixed activities and preferences: the text you type on the Planning tab itself.

3. Add fixed activities and preferences

  1. Open the Planning tab of your own business.
  2. Under Fixed activities and preferences, type anything that shapes your day, such as your usual start time, weekly bookkeeping hours or the rhythm per client.
  3. Click outside the field. The text is saved automatically and included in the plan.

4. Let Metri plan

  1. Choose the month with the arrows next to Monthly plan for. Click This month to go back to the current month.
  2. Click Let Metri plan.
  3. Wait a few seconds while Metri draws up your plan.

The plan shows:

  • a short summary;
  • Points of attention, if Metri sees something that needs your attention;
  • per workday, the blocks with a start time, the number of hours, the client or task and a short reason.

Metri only plans from today onward. If no workdays are left in the month, you see a message.

5. Plan again

Once a plan is shown, the button changes to Plan again. Use it when something changes in your hours, tasks, appointments or activities.

The plan is saved per month, with the date it was created. When you come back or switch months, you see the saved plan. Metrara keeps the plans of the last six months.

6. Costs

Creating a plan does not use credits.
