My figures are missing or empty

Metrara fetches figures from your connected sources every night and shows what it has stored. Find the situation below to see why a card, chart or tab is empty.

On this page

1. You just connected a source and see no figures

Figures arrive in two steps: first the recent figures, then the history in the background.

  • Google (Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads): after you click Save and fetch figures, the first figures are fetched right away. This takes about half a minute.
  • Other sources: the first figures arrive with the nightly run, early in the morning.
  • History: Metrara fetches up to two years of daily figures. Search Console keeps sixteen months, and Bol.com history goes back three months. For a large webshop, the history can take a few nights to complete.

To fetch figures now:

  1. Open the business and go to Metrics.
  2. Click Refresh figures in the period bar. This fetches the last 30 days of all sources of the business and takes about half a minute.
  3. Wait for the message Updated: followed by the number of sources. The page reloads with the new figures.

Only the agency can refresh figures. A client user sees Only the agency can refresh the figures. and can wait for the nightly run instead.

2. The home page card says "No data yet"

The business has no stored figures yet.

  1. Check that at least one source is connected under Manage › Access keys. See Connect your first sources.
  2. Click Refresh now at the top of the home page. This fetches the figures of all your businesses.
  3. Read the message next to the button. A message ending in See the overview below. means some sources could not be fetched. See the next section.

3. "One source could not be fetched" or "2 sources could not be fetched"

This red card on the home page lists each business and source that failed in the last run, with the reason. Other sources keep working. Only the agency sees this card.

Common causes:

  • The access to the source was withdrawn, or the password or key of the account changed.
  • The Google account you connected lost access to the Analytics property or Search Console site.
  • The website or webshop was temporarily unreachable.
  • A key was entered for the wrong website.

To fix it:

  1. Note the business and source in the card.
  2. Open Manage, choose the business and open Access keys.
  3. Reconnect the source, or enter the key again. For Google, see Google Analytics and Search Console problems. For webshops, see WooCommerce, Shopify and WordPress problems.
  4. Go to the business and click Refresh figures, or wait for the next nightly run.

Click the cross to hide the card. It comes back when a later run fails with different errors.

4. "3 sources updated, 1 failed."

The numbers vary. You clicked Refresh figures and at least one source of this business failed. The figures of the other sources were updated.

  1. Go to the home page. The red card shows which source failed and why.
  2. Follow the steps in the section above.

5. "No sources found for this company."

The business has no connected sources, or it is turned off.

  1. Open Manage, choose the business and connect a source under Access keys.
  2. Is the business turned off? Turn it on again under General › Client and status. A turned-off business is skipped in the nightly run. See A client or team member can't see something.

6. Today or the last few days look low or empty

The nightly run happens early in the morning, so today only contains what was fetched at that moment. Search Console runs two to three days behind: the most recent days stay empty or low until Google fills them in. Metrara fetches the last 30 days again every night, so these days are completed automatically.

  1. Look at the chart instead of the total for the last days.
  2. Choose a longer period in the period bar, such as last 28 days or last 90 days, so the incomplete days weigh less.
  3. Check again after a few nights.

See My figures differ from Google Analytics or my webshop.

7. A chart or table says "No figures in this period." or "No data in this period yet."

The source is connected, but nothing was recorded in the chosen period. This happens with a short period, a new source or a paused campaign.

  1. Open Period in the period bar and choose last 90 days.
  2. If the section is still empty, check that the source is connected and that the account actually had activity in that period.

The period you choose applies to all tabs. The period bar only appears on tabs and sections where the period changes something.

8. "Compare with" shows no percentage or an empty comparison

Metrara can only compare with figures it has stored. Right after connecting, the history may not be complete yet. A comparison with last year stays empty when there are no figures for that period, for example when the site had little traffic then or the source only keeps a limited history.

  1. Wait until the history import is done. This can take a few nights.
  2. Choose previous period instead of last year.

When the previous figure is 0, Metrara shows no percentage.

9. "No keywords from Search Console yet."

Search Console is not connected, or the first nightly run after connecting has not finished yet.

  1. Check under Manage › Access keys that a Search Console site is chosen and marked as active.
  2. Click Refresh figures on SEO, or wait for the next nightly run.

10. A tab is missing from the menu

When you haven't picked tabs yourself, a tab only appears once its source is connected. For example, E-commerce needs WooCommerce or Shopify and SEO needs Search Console.

  1. Connect the source under Manage › Access keys.
  2. Or turn on the tab yourself under Manage › Tabs and click Save changes.
  3. Reload the page.

For the full list of tabs and the sources they need, see A client or team member can't see something.

11. A client user sees "No figures are ready for you yet."

The agency has not connected sources for the business yet, or the first figures have not been fetched.

  1. As the agency, connect the sources under Manage › Access keys.
  2. Click Refresh figures on the business, or wait for the nightly run.

A client user with permission to connect can also connect sources under Connections. After connecting, Metrara fetches the figures every night, the first time with history.

12. Figures stopped updating

A source that worked before now fails every night. The red card on the home page shows which source and why.

  1. Follow the steps under "One source could not be fetched" above.
  2. After fixing it, click Refresh figures. Metrara fetches the last 30 days, so a gap of up to 30 days fills itself.

Is the gap longer than 30 days? Contact support. See Contact support.
