Monthly report

Monthly report lets AI write a readable report for your client over a week, two weeks, a month or a year.

On this page

Monthly report lets AI write a readable report for your client over a week, two weeks, a month or a year. You check and edit the text, then publish it so the client can read it in their dashboard.

1. Who can create reports

Only agency users can create, edit, publish and delete reports. Client users see Your reports: the reports the agency shared with them, to read or print.

2. Create a report

  1. Open the Actions tab of a business and click Monthly report.
  2. Choose the period type: Week, Two weeks, Month or Year.
  3. Pick the period. The previous week or month is filled in by default. For Two weeks, choose the Start week.
  4. For a month or year, choose Concise or Extended. Extended works out the figures per channel.
  5. Click Create monthly report (or Create weekly report, Create biweekly report, Create yearly report). This costs 2 credits. See Credits.

Writing takes about half a minute. The report then opens as a draft. It is written in the language of your dashboard.

3. What the report contains

The report is written for a business owner, in plain language, using only the figures in Metrara:

  • a short summary of the period;
  • the key numbers compared with the previous period, for a month also with the same month last year when that data exists;
  • what stood out and points for the next period;
  • for a yearly report, the main trend per quarter;
  • the work that was done: work logged in hours, tasks completed in the period and page changes from the SEO worklist, with their effect on positions and clicks.

Week and two-week reports are always concise.

If there are no figures for the chosen period, you see a message. Pick a period in which the business has data.

4. Edit the text

  1. Open the report from the list.
  2. Click Edit text.
  3. Adjust the text. You can use headings (#), bold (text) and lists (-).
  4. Click Save, or Cancel to discard your changes.

5. Publish to the client

A new report is a draft: Draft: only you can see this.

  • Click Publish to client.
  • Confirm. The report appears in the client's dashboard and client users receive an email.

After publishing, the status shows Shared with the client on and the date. Changed the text after publishing? Click Share updated version. Client users receive another email.

If the client has no client user yet, the report is published without an email. See Agencies and teams for inviting client users.

6. Print or save as PDF

Click Print or save as PDF on the report page. The dashboard menus are left out of the print.

7. The list of reports

Under the buttons you see the reports of this business, newest first, with the label Draft or Shared and the date. Click × (Delete report) to delete a report and confirm.

8. What the client sees

  • Client users only see published reports, never drafts.
  • They find them under Reports in their dashboard. This tab appears once at least one report is shared.
  • They can open a report to read or print it.

9. Combined report

For a client with several businesses, you can create one report across them. Open the client under Clients, go to Reports and click Create combined report. Choose the period and which companies to include. You edit and publish it the same way.
