Metrics

Metrics is the main page of a business: your key figures, where your visitors come from and how you are doing compared with last year.

On this page

1. Cards and charts

At the top, under General figures, you see cards for your key figures:

  • Revenue and Orders for webshops, or Leads for service businesses.
  • Visitors and Sessions.
  • Key events for businesses that are not a webshop. Hover over the (i) to see which events count.

Below the cards you see Revenue per day (or Leads per day) and Visitors per day.

Choose Compare with in the period bar to add a percentage to every card and a dotted line to every chart. See The period bar.

2. Google updates in the charts

On the charts for visitors, clicks and impressions, Google's core and spam updates are marked with a light band. Hover over it to see which update it was. This helps you tell whether a drop coincides with an update.

3. Choose what counts as a conversion

Agency users can click Edit next to the cards.

  • In Adjust cards, tick Conversion for the events that count as a lead or enquiry.
  • Tick Card for events you want as a separate card at the top.

Nothing changes in Google Analytics itself.

4. Where your traffic comes from

  • Where does your traffic come from? Sessions per channel, such as organic search, direct and social.
  • What does each channel bring in? Revenue and conversions per channel (webshops).
  • Where do your enquiries come from? Enquiries per channel (service businesses).
  • Traffic from AI Visits via ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or Copilot.

5. More sections

  • SEO: found via Google: clicks, impressions, click rate and average position.
  • SEA: Google Ads: ad spend, cost per click, conversions and the ad budget bar. Only with Google Ads connected.
  • Seasonal pattern: your busiest and quietest months. Appears once there are at least two full years of revenue.
  • Weather, holidays and what's coming: what sun, temperature and school holidays do to your revenue, with a forecast. Agency users switch this on under Manage, Extra options.
  • Benchmark: your conversion and click rate next to the median of similar businesses on Metrara. Appears when there are enough comparable businesses.
  • Track sales: enter sales yourself. See Enter sales manually.

6. Grid

Click Grid to show light lines between rows and columns in tables.
