Google Analytics and Search Console

Connect Google Analytics for your visitors and conversions, and Search Console for how you rank in Google. You sign in to Google once and pick both from a list.

On this page

1. Before you start

You need a Google account with access to the Google Analytics 4 property and the Search Console property of the website.
Read access is enough.

2. Connect

  1. Go to Manage, choose your business and open Access keys. Client users: open Connections in the menu.
  2. In the Google block, click Continue with Google.
  3. Choose your Google account and click Allow for each permission Google asks for.
  4. You return to Metrara with the message Connected to Google. Now choose your property and site.
  5. Choose your Analytics property.
  6. Choose your Search Console site.
  7. Click Save and fetch figures. This takes about half a minute; your first figures are fetched right away.

3. What you see after connecting

  • Metrics: visitors, sessions, where they come from and what each channel delivers.
  • SEO: clicks, impressions, positions and the search queries you are found on.
  • CRO: landing pages, the funnel and attribution.

Metrara fetches up to two years of Analytics history and sixteen months of Search Console history.

4. Troubleshooting

  • "This Google account has no Analytics properties." The Google account you signed in with has no access to Analytics. Ask the owner of the property to add you as a user under Admin, Access management, or sign in with another account.
  • "This Google account has no Search Console sites." Ask the owner to add you under Settings, Users and permissions in Search Console.
  • "Connecting to Google failed." Try again and choose Allow on every screen.
  • Search Console figures lag two to three days behind. That is normal; Google fills in the last days later.

Disconnect

Click Disconnect in the Google block. The chosen property and site stay saved, but fetching stops until you connect again.
