Google Ads

Connect Google Ads to see your campaigns, costs and results next to your other figures. Google Ads is part of the same Google connection as Analytics and Search Console.

On this page

1. Before you start

  • Connect Google first. See Google Analytics and Search Console.
  • Your Google account needs access to the Google Ads account, directly or through a manager account.

2. Connect

  1. Go to Manage, choose your business and open Access keys. Client users: open Connections.
  2. In the Google block, click Also connect Google Ads.
  3. Google asks for permission once more. Click Allow.
  4. Choose your Google Ads account in the list.
  5. Click Save and fetch figures.

3. Why Google asks to "view, edit and delete"

Google Ads has no read-only permission, so Google shows a broad description. Metrara only reads figures. It never changes campaigns, budgets or ads.

4. What you see after connecting

Under SEA:

  • Overview and Campaigns: costs, clicks, conversions and return per campaign.
  • Keywords and Search terms: what you bid on and what people actually searched for.
  • Insights: account, reach and quality.
  • Take action: Opportunities, Improve and Write ad with Metri.

5. Troubleshooting

  • "This Google account manages no advertising accounts." Sign in with the Google account that has access to Google Ads, or ask the owner to add you as a user.
  • The account is missing from the list. If the account sits under a manager account, check that your Google account has access to that manager account.
