Add clients and businesses

In Manage you create a client and add one or more businesses to it. Everything you set up later, such as client users and credits, follows this grouping.

On this page

1. Clients, businesses and the Clients tab

  • A client in Manage is a group of businesses. Client users and credit settings belong to this group.
  • A business is one website or webshop with its own dashboard.
  • The Clients tab of a business is something else: there you keep track of hours, rates and revenue per client. See Track hours.

2. Add a client

  1. Click Manage at the top of the screen.
  2. Below the list of businesses, click + Add group (client).
  3. Type the name of the client.
  4. Click Add, or Cancel to stop.

The client appears in the list. Click its name to show or hide its businesses.

3. Add a business to a client

  1. In Manage, click + next to the client name. The form New business for and the client name opens.
  2. Fill in the Name and Website, choose Where does revenue come from? and pick a Color.
  3. Click Create business.

You can also click + Add a new business below the list. Choose the client under Which client group does this business belong to?

When all businesses in your plan are in use, you see a message. Upgrade or buy an extra business under Settings, Subscription and credits. See Plans.

Then connect sources and choose the tabs, just like for your first business. See Add your first business and Choose your tabs.

4. Move, rename, turn off or delete

At the bottom of Manage › General of a business you find Client and status:

  • Belongs to client: choose another client and click Move. Figures and settings move along.
  • Name of this client: change the name and click Rename. The web address of the client page stays the same.
  • Delete empty clients: a client without businesses and without client users can be deleted. The last client cannot be deleted.
  • Turn off company: the business disappears from the menu and the nightly data run and no longer counts toward your plan. Figures and settings are kept.
  • Turned-off companies: click Turn on again to bring a business back. This only works when your plan has room.

5. Mark your own businesses

Your own businesses belong in a separate group, not between your clients.

  1. Click Manage.
  2. Click the house icon next to the name of the group.

Your own business is always at the top of Home and gets a fixed spot in the menu. Click the house again to make it a regular client.

6. The client page

A client with several businesses gets its own page with all businesses together. Open it by:

  • clicking the client name under How are your clients doing? on Home;
  • clicking the client name in the business picker;
  • clicking the client name below the business picker when a business of that client is open.

The client page has three tabs:

  • Figures: under Everything combined, the total Revenue, Orders or Leads, Visitors and Ad spend compared with the previous period. Under Per company, a row per business. Click a business for its full dashboard.
  • Tasks: the tasks of all businesses of this client in one list.
  • Reports: the reports of this client, including combined reports across businesses. See Share reports.
